Program Description

The Mercedes-Benz Automotive Technician training program will offer students the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of automotive repair with a focus on Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This program will work directly with MBUSA to provide students with factory training. Students who complete the program will have a solid foundation with exposure to the latest technology and entry-level access to luxury automobile technician positions. Gwinnett Tech’s partnership with MBUSA and local Mercedes dealers will provide students with a high probability of completion and future career success.

Employment Opportunities

Employment opportunities include but are not limited to a general automotive technician, basic automotive service technician, brake and front end specialist, transmission specialist, air conditioning and electrical specialist, engine specialist, computer systems specialist, engine performance specialist, service advisor, service writer, and parts attendant

Curriculum


Essential General Education Core Courses (15 Credits)


Area I - Language Arts/Communication


(Successful completion of ENGL 1101  is required)

Area II - Social/Behavioral Sciences


(Choose ONE of the following)

Area III - Natural Sciences/Mathematics


(Successful completion of MATH 1111  or MATH 1103  is required)

Area IV - Humanities/Fine Arts


(Choose ONE of the following)

General Education Elective:


To meet the minimum required 15 semester credit hours in general education courses, an additional 3 semester credit hours must be taken from Area I, Area II, Area III, or Area IV. Students can view the complete list of classes here .
