RWO1

Program Description

The student will work in various fabrication/manufacturing shops/factories. He/she may work in cells or on production lines and will be responsible for loading a part in a robotic weld jig, commanding the robot to begin operation, removing the completed part, inspecting the part, placing the part in a cart or line for transport, and repeating the process. The operator may be required to tweak the program if necessary or alert the product engineer of repetitive issues concerning part fit-up or weld quality. In addition, the student may work in a shop in which he/she actually programs the weld via pendant or cobot (collaborative robot) programming. The student/employee will understand welding defects and discontinuities and will be qualified to inspect the weld quality and make adjustment to the program commands if needed.
