Program Description
The Human Resources Administrative Assistant certificate prepares individuals to support the planning, coordinating, and directing of the workforce functions of an organization. Key skills include communication skills - strong speaking, writing, and listening skills; Decision-making skills - the ability to balance the strengths and weaknesses of different options and decide the best course of action; Interpersonal skills - ability to develop working relationships with their colleagues; Leadership skills - ability to coordinate work activities and ensure that staff complete the duties and responsibilities of their department; and Organizational skills - ability to prioritize tasks and manage several projects at once.
Prerequisite: Students applying for this program must be accepted into the Business Technology degree program.

Employment from this program will be an entry level position such as Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Specialists, and Talent Acquisition Assistant. Daily responsibilities typically involve organizing and maintaining employee records, assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, scheduling interviews, managing HR documents and confidential files, and responding to internal HR-related inquiries.
