Program Description
The Project Management Assistant program prepares graduates for employment in today’s fast-paced and technology-driven workplaces. The program provides learning opportunities which introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program provides instruction on the use of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications software to input, manage, interpret and communicate information. Students are introduced to the basics of project management functions and processes as well as general knowledge of the human behavioral aspects found in the workplace environment. Graduates of the program receive a Project Management Assistant Technical Certificate of Credit.
Prerequisite: Students applying for this program must be accepted into the Business Technology degree program.
Employment Opportunities
Employment from this program will be entry level positions such as a Project Management Assistant, Management Analysts, Project Coordinator, or Logistics Analysts. Graduates should seek externship or internship opportunities. Daily job routines often include assisting project managers with scheduling meetings, preparing project documentation, tracking progress against timelines, managing project budgets, and maintaining communication between team members. Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills are essential to supporting smooth and successful project execution.
