Program Description
The Automotive Technology diploma program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in the automotive service and repair profession. Learning opportunities enable students to develop academic, technical and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of automotive mechanics theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive an Automotive Technology diploma that qualifies them as well rounded entry-level technicians. (5 Semesters minimum)

Students may become certified by taking the ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification tests administered in eight areas by ACT (American College Testing).
Employment
Employment opportunities include but are not limited to a general automotive technician, basic automotive service technician, brake and front end specialist, air conditioning and electrical specialist, computer systems specialist, engine performance specialist, service advisor, service writer, and parts attendant.
Regulations published by the U.S. Department of Education require institutions that participate in the Title IV student financial assistance programs to report certain information about students who enrolled in Title IV-eligible educational programs, two years earlier, that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE Programs).
