MOPAR (CAP) College Automotive Program Fact Sheet


What is a MOPAR (CAP) Automotive Service Technician?

A MOPAR (CAP) Automotive Service Technician works in a Chrysler, Dodge Jeep, Ram or Fiat dealership. The Technician provides top-of-the line customer service. A MOPAR (CAP) service technician begins service by inspecting the vehicle and diagnosing any issues. The MOPAR (CAP) service technician performs the required maintenance and repair of the vehicle and its parts. They will perform general maintenance like oil changes and tire rotation.  Technicians also repair and/or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings and even engines or transmissions.

Prerequisite Courses
  1. FYES 1000  
  2. Degree level proficiency is required to take degree level General Education courses. Please refer to course descriptions in online catalog for specific prerequisites. Students are encouraged to complete any learning support courses needed, and then General Education courses.
  3. Diploma level proficiency is required to take diploma level General Education courses and ACAP Technical courses.

Applicants to the MOPAR (CAP) College Automotive Program must meet all admission requirements; complete an application and pay the application fee. Individuals may apply to Gwinnett Technical College at GwinnettTech.edu, submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work, and take the ACCUPLACER test, if required. Students applying for any of the MOPAR (CAP) certificates must be accepted into the MOPAR (CAP) College Automotive degree or diploma program.
