Computed Tomography Clinical Specialist Certificate Program Fact Sheet

What is an CT Specialist?

A CT Clinical Specialist performs diagnostic imaging examinations using computed tomography imaging. Candidates for this program must be a registered Radiologic Technologist, registered Radiation Therapist, or registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist in good standing. A CT Clinical Specialist may work in the hospital or in an imaging clinic. Learn more about the career at asrt.org.

Length of Program

2 semesters; Program courses must be taken in sequence within the prescribed time frame.

Semester Program Begins

Fall semester; Part-time; Day classes only

Application Process
  1. Apply to Gwinnett Technical College at GwinnettTech.edu and submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work.
  2. Submit transcripts showing completion of a JCERT accredited Radiography or Radiation Therapy program, or a JRC-NMT accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  3. Submit proof of active ARRT status (R, N, or T) or active NMTCB status (CNMT).
Prerequisite Courses

Candidates for this program must be a registered Radiologic Technologist, registered Radiation Therapist, or registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist in good standing.

Program Deadlines

For Fall semester admission, all application steps must be completed by May 20th.

Program Requirements
  1. A complete background check and drug screen must be completed. This is through an agency approved by Gwinnett Tech and will cost approximately $80.
  2. Proof of appropriate immunizations must be supplied to Gwinnett Tech.
Program Costs and Requirements

Uniform scrubs, shoes, books, liability insurance, criminal background checks and drug screening, immunizations for hospital clinicals, and ARRT testing fee. All costs are approximated and are subject to change.

Everyone is welcome to attend our Information Session held on the 1st Saturday of each month* at 9 a.m.
in Building 200, Room 104, Lawrenceville Campus
*There will not be an Information Session in January
