BARB 1100 - Barber/Styling Practicum and Internship
Prerequisite: BARB 1000 , BARB 1030 , BARB 1040 , BARB 1050 , BARB 1060 ;
Prerequisite/Corequisite: BARB 1084 , BARB 1090
Provides experience necessary for professional development and completion of requirements for state licensure. Emphasis will be placed on the display of professional conduct and positive attitudes. The requirements for this course may be met in a laboratory setting or in a combination of a laboratory setting and an approved internship facility. Topics include: haircutting/styling, hairstyling texturizing, shaving, beard trimming, thermal waving, hairpiece fitting and styling, safety precautions, and licensure preparation. Students enrolled in this course will be assessed a $50 supply fee in addition to tuition and fees. Fees are subject to change at the end of any semester. Contact hours: Class - 0, Lab - 9.
