DENA 1340 - Dental Assisting I: General Chairside

Prerequisite: Program Admission;
Prerequisite/Corequisite: DENA 1050; DENA 1080
Introduces student to ethics and jurisprudence for the dental assistant and to chairside assisting with diagnostic and operative procedures. Topics include: ethics and jurisprudence in the dental office; medically compromised patients and management of dental office emergencies; four-handed dentistry techniques; clinical data collection techniques; introduction to operative dentistry; and dental material basics. Students enrolled in this course will be assessed a $100 supply fee in addition to tuition and fees. Fees are subject to change at the end of any semester. Contact hours: Class - 3, Lab - 6.
