Program Description
The purpose of this Child Development certificate is to provide the necessary skills for entry-level employment as a child development specialist. Skill areas include planning a safe and healthy learning environment, steps to advance children’s physical and intellectual development, positive ways to support children’s social and emotional development; strategies to establish productive relationships with families, strategies to manage an effective program operation, professionalism; observing and recording children’s behavior, principles of child growth and development, and planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum. Technical courses apply to the degree or diploma program in early childhood. This certificate does not qualify for Federal financial aid as it does not meet minimum hour requirements. (Program Length: 2 Semester Minimum)
