Program Description
The Criminal Justice Technology associate degree is a sequence of courses that prepares students for criminal justice professions. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of criminal justice theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive a criminal justice technology associate degree. Graduates who are current practitioners will benefit through enhancement of career potential. (Program Length: 5 Semesters Minimum)

A criminal background check will be completed prior to the first day of the practicum or externship (CRJU 2090 / CRJU 2100 ) by most Criminal Justice agencies. Failure to complete and pass this criminal background check to the satisfaction of the internship site will prohibit the externship experience and result in a failing grade preventing the student from completion of the program. Program director approval is required before registration of the practicum or externship (CRJU 2090 / CRJU 2100 ).
