What is a Heavy Diesel Service Technician? |
An HVAC and Diesel maintenance technician job is to diagnose and repair air conditioning and heat systems. This includes Truck and equipment A/C, trailer refrigeration, Ventilation and air distribution issues. Properly and safely recycling refrigerant for reuse in the vehicle. As a maintenance technician you are responsible for ensuring an 80,000+ pound Semi-truck and trailer are safe to take on the road. This includes inspection and documentation of safety systems like brakes, tires, electrical and pneumatic systems.

Application Process |
Applicants to the Heavy Diesel Service Technician program must meet all admission requirements; complete an application and pay the application fee. Individuals apply to Gwinnett Technical College at GwinnettTech.edu, submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work, and take the ACCUPLACER test, if required. Students applying for any of the Diesel Program certificates must be accepted into the Diesel Equipment Technology diploma program.
