Ford ASSET (Automotive Student Service Educational Training) Fact Sheet


What is a Ford ASSET Service Technician?

A Ford ASSET Service Technician works in a Ford or Lincoln dealership. The Technician provides top-of-the line customer service. A Ford ASSET Service Technician begins service by inspecting the vehicle and diagnosing any issues. The Ford ASSET Service Technician performs the required maintenance and repair of the vehicle and its parts. They will perform general maintenance like oil changes and tire rotation.  Technicians also repair and/or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings and even engines or transmissions.

  2. Degree level proficiency is required to take degree level General Education courses. Please refer to course descriptions in online catalog for specific prerequisites. Students are encouraged to complete any learning support courses needed, and then General Education courses.

18 years of age at the start of program

Applicants to the Ford ASSET College Automotive Program must meet all admission requirements; complete an application and pay the application fee. Individuals may apply to Gwinnett Technical College at GwinnettTech.edu, submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work, and take the ACCUPLACER test, if required. Students applying for any of the Ford ASSET certificates must be accepted into the Ford ASSET degree program.
