PHOT 2002 - Professional Practices


Prerequisite: PHOT 1016  
An analysis of the photographic community and careers in professional photography is the focus of this course. Students will gain firsthand knowledge of professional opportunities and employment possibilities through a series of field trips, lectures and guest speakers. The course emphasizes professional development through career resources, with an exploration of photographic studios, photography related businesses and photographer positions in corporate environments. Students will research career possibilities, visit photographic related businesses, network with professionals, and develop a career plan. Note: Includes certification with PPA Certified Photographer program in the course fees. $79/student membership; $200 certification exam and portfolio review. Contact hours: Class - .67, Lab - 3.33.
