WELD 1153 - Flux Cored Arc Welding
Prerequisite: WELD 1000
Provides knowledge of theory, safety practices, equipment, and techniques required for successful flux cored arc welding (FCAW). Qualification tests, all positions, are used in the evaluation of student progress toward making industrial standards welds. Topics include: FCAW safety and health practices, FCAW theory, machine set up and operation, shielded gas selection, and FCAW joints in all positions. Students enrolled in this course will be assessed a $30 supply fee in addition to tuition and fees. Fees are subject to change at the end of any semester. Contact hours: Class - 3, Lab - 3.
