PHOT 2311 - Location Scouting for Still & Motion

Prerequisite: PHOT 1011  and PHOT 1012 
Location scouting is an integral process of pre-production for commercial photography assignments and filmmaking. This course will investigate the skills and techniques required to interpret the creative brief, production request or script and seek out and secure appropriate locations (exterior, interior, industrial and agricultural). Additional discussions will include interpersonal interaction with site owners or managers, legal issues, image delivery and management, permits, negotiating rental fees contracts, safety, resources relationships and documentation practices.
