PHOT 2313 - New Photographic Technologies- Drones
Prerequisite: PHOT 1011 and PHOT 1012 ; students must be 16 years of age
This advanced level course will investigate new technologies in photographic media arts, which may include aerial still photography and video using UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles - drones), Virtual reality imaging and other emerging image technologies. Students will learn about existing and emerging technologies. Pre-visualization and acquiring imagery utilizing a variety of tools and techniques to create projects will be the emphasis of this course. Industry applications including commercial, editorial, architectural, real estate, insurance, military, film industry and consumer events will be addressed. Safety, legal issues and certifications will be discussed. Note: Fees for FAA certification will be included in this course. $150 exam for FAA part 107 certification Contact hours: Class - .67, Lab - 2.9. Credit hours: 2 (T)
