Program Description
The criminal justice technology associate degree is a sequence of courses that prepares students for criminal justice professions. Learning opportunities develop academic, occupational, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes a combination of criminal justice theory and practical application necessary for successful employment. Program graduates receive a criminal justice technology associate degree. Graduates who are current practitioners will benefit through enhancement of career potential. (Program Length: 5 Semesters Minimum)
A criminal background check will be completed prior to the first day of the practicum or externship (CRJU 2090 / CRJU 2100 ) by most Criminal Justice agencies. Failure to complete and pass this criminal background check to the satisfaction of the internship site will prohibit the externship experience, thus, terminating the student from the program before graduation. Program director approval is required before registration of the practicum or externship (CRJU 2090 / CRJU 2100 ).
