Computerized Accounting Specialist Certificate Program Fact Sheet


What is a Computerized Accounting Specialist? The Computerized Accounting Specialist certificate provides students with basic skills in computerized accounting. Topics include: principles of accounting, computerized accounting, spreadsheet fundamentals and basic computers. These accounting professionals use computers and software programs to complete their work tasks. Accounting clerks, accounting receptionists, and financial clerks are all computerized accounting specialists.
Prerequisite courses
  1. FYES 1000  
  2. Diploma level proficiency in English, reading and math are required to take ACCT technical courses and graduate from this certificate. Please refer to course descriptions in the online catalog for specific prerequisites.
Length of Program Certificate: 2 semesters

Semester Program Begins Fall and spring semesters
Admission Process Applicants obtaining the Computerized Accounting Specialist certificate must meet all Admissions requirements; complete an application and pay the application fee. Individuals apply to Gwinnett Technical College at GwinnettTech.edu, submit all transcripts from high school and previous college work, and take the ACCUPLACER test, if required.
