WELD 1153 - Flux Cored Arc Welding

Prerequisite: WELD 1000, WELD 1030, and WELD 1090
Corequisite: WELD 1010
Provides knowledge of theory, safety practices, equipment, and techniques required for successful flux cored arc welding (FCAW). Qualification tests, all positions, are used in the evaluation of student progress toward making industrial standards welds. Topics include: FCAW safety and health practices, FCAW theory, machine set up and operation, shielded gas selection, and FCAW joints in all positions. Contact hours: Class - 3, Lab - 3.
